The best way to determine which Carcano you have is to look at the sight and see what it reads. The short Carcano will usually read "6-15" on the ladder sight.
This is a Scout style mount requiring a long eye relief scope. The base mounts at the existing rear sight mounting screws and accepts the Weaver or Picatinny rings of your choice.
