Bolt Lift Kit

Black

Fits the SAVAGE CENTERFIRE rifles that include the 10-16, 110-116 and Axis Rifles

If your Savage rifle requires a lot of effort to cock and close the bolt, our Savage Bolt Lift Kit, by Desh Industries, will reduce that effort considerably. This Bolt Lift kit uses a special thrust bearing and a spacer for the BAS screw. Addition of this kit reduces the friction and reduces the bolt lift by 20% to 30%, or in some cases as much as 50%.

Best upgrade for ANY Savage centerfire rifle

Posted by Seth Winn on Jun 14th 2024

Some of the Savage centerfire rifles I have shot over the years would occasionally exhibit light primer strikes. Polishing the firing pin and bolt ID, and a bit of grease on the main spring helped on some. On the rest, I upgraded to a Wolff extra power main spring. So far that has been 100% effective. But at a cost. That cost is the bolt handle becomes a bear to open. The main spring in a Savage rotates against the cocking piece sleeve. The stronger the spring, the greater the friction between those two parts when you are cocking the bolt. This little lift kit makes all the difference. It is SO much easier to cock the bolt with this thrust washer installed. The thick washer does push the bolt assembly screw back. This makes room for the new parts you added inside the bolt. It doesn't get in the way of anything. Someone casually looking at or even shooting the rifle wouldn't notice it. I suppose one could turn down the assembly screw enough to not need the spacer. But for a DIY install performed by someone that doesn't own a lathe (most people), the bolt still looks pretty natural with the spacer in there. I have a lathe and am going to leave the washer in place on my rifles. Kinney's has a black and a stainless kit. The difference is the color of this washer. The rest of the parts are identical. The installation video is worth watching. It's not a difficult install, but that will remove any mystery from the process. You're not going to regret trying one of these. There aren't many <$30 upgrades that can be done to any rifle in under 10 minutes that make this noticeable of a difference.
